1 I I! l X X MAROON AND WHI I E QIAFF lhe past year has seen many changes within our portals but few are as signicant as those which have taken place in our school publication Following modern progressive tendencies the monthly fwrnoon and Wlitlt of magazine form has this year surrendered its laurels to the new bi-monthly newspaper edition of the same name. It is not the purpose of this paper to attempt to outdo the achievements of the magaLine. 'lihe two forms of scholastic journalism are absolutely different and distinct. For many years the old Maroon and Wfiilt adorned the annals of La Sa e with the laurels of its glory. With these thoughts in mind the faculty desired that a simi- lar training, be given to the present student body. An academic organ that would exprefs the work of the school by the combined efforts of the stu- ent: wa: desire . ilihe solution was foun in a school newspaper. 1 ing '1 new project. it called for the com- :inec effort: of a well-organized sta an a spirited student body to make it a successful ven ture Reverend Brother Denys faculty Director organized the staff and lent his sincere and ei thustastic support to the problem At firt many ob tacles were encountered but they were soon overcome and the output of the four page l monthly newspaper publication became 1 smooth- running mechanical process with each individual student doing his part. The favorable comments of the faculty and the entire student body on the finished project proved conclusively to the staff that their untiring efforts had not been in vain. and that the prestige of the fllaroon and Hflzitt' established in former years had been upheld.
