2 5 th anniversary BROTHER CHRYSOSTOM LEO, F.S.C. 1937 - 1957 The Class of 1957 is happy to dedicate the present edition of the La Sallite to Brother C. Leo of our faculty. Brother Leo's first assignment to the Academy was during the year 1937. In 1954, Brother was reassigned to the faculty and placed in charge of the Classics department. In more recent years, Brother Leo has been given the additional re- sponsibility of Guidance Director. On this occasion of his 25th anniversary of religious profession as a Christian Brother, we of the senior class extend our sincerest congratulations to Brother Leo and wish him many more fruitful years of service in the Catholic Classroom.

DEDICATION After the Chapel ceremonies of affiliation to the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools: l. to r.: Brother A. Philip, President of Manhattan Collegey Bishop Donohue, Commissioner Zurmuhlen, and Brother A. john, Visitor of the New York District of the Brothers. This year La Salle Academy is especially happy to offer its congratulations to Commissioner Zurmuhlen of the Class of 1914. Mr. Zurmuhlen has long been a Brothers' Boy, having graduated from St. Peter's Parochial School on Staten Island, La Salle Academy in 1914, and Manhattan College in 1918. At present, he is Commissioner of the Department of Public Works, a position he has held under three Mayors since his appointment in 1947. Because of his unfailing and constant loyalty to his former teachers, Com- missioner Zurmuhlin was granted letters of affiliation to the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools on November 18, 1956. This afiiliation represents the highest honor that the Christian Brothers can bestow on a benefactor. Presentation of Letters of Ajiliation hy the Supe- rior of the Brothers.
