Captain Brent . Bennitt HOC.. Captain Brent M. Bennitt, a native of Muskegon, Michigan, received his commission in 1964 upon graduation from the U.S. Naval Academy where he earned a Bachelor of Naval Science degree and graduated with honors. He was designated a Naval Aviator in December 1965. A veteran pilot, Captain Bennitt flew 221 combat missions in Viet- nam and has served as a Navy test pilot and flight test instructor. His career has included tours with several attack squadrons, serving as com- manding officer of Attack Squadron 105. He has served as flag lieute- nant and personal aide to the Commander in Chief, Pacific Fleet, and most recently as Executive Officer of USS Nimitz QCVN 685. Among Captain Bennitt's awards are the Air Medal C3 individual awards, 17 strike flight awardsl, Navy Commendation Medal with Combat V C3 awardsj, Vietnamese Air Gallantry Cross, Navy Unit Commendation, Vietnamese Meritorious Unit Commendation, Queen's Commendation for meritorious achievement in aerial flight CUnited Kingdomj, and the Navy Expeditionary Medal for service in Lebanon. He is also a member of the International Society of Ex- perimental test pilots. Captain Bennitt is married to the former Beverley Diane Brumfield of Kansas City, Missouri. The Bennitts have a daughter named Sarah.
