The abundance native wood carvings, basket-work, tom drums, skins, and furs all add to the distinct fla of this rapidly growing resort city. One hundred and eighteen LA SALLE crew members took advantage of the photographic safari tours offered to Tsavo and Nairobi National Parks during our five day visit to Mombasa. The most popular tour, a two day excursion to Tsavo, allowed crew members ample time to discover both the wild life of Africa and the peoples of Mombasa. Tsavo National Park, the largest in the world, is a wide open game preserve of some seven thousand square miles abounding in elephants, rhinoceri, cape buffalo, giraffes, and zebras. On the first night of the safari, after a tour of Tsavo East, the group stayed at the Voi Game Lodge, famous for its watering hole where at night one can sit on the terrace and watch the herds of rhino and elephants coming in from the plains to drink their fill. The second day was spent at Tsavo West, where many men were given a taste of African adventure, compliments of African Roadways Ltd., when their drivers left the dirt roads in their sturdy VW buses to chase lions through the bush. The splendor of Mount Kilimanjaro and the frolicking hippos at Mzima Springs helped make the second day of the tour a memorable one. , . .,,..,,...,,M..,....-.......l..,.,.,,.,a......J.Ll, A +1 27
