WILL La Puente High School need more science fa- cilities in the near future? Do the boys at LaPHS need new shower and locker rooms? These are iust two questions that the LaPHS Board of Trustees under the direction ot President Michael Pemberton had to face during the year. They were constantly planning and making decisions forthe rapidly ex- panding district. For instance, they spent much time going over the plans for the third increment of the new Los Altos High School with the architect after having seen to it that the second increment con- tinued under construction on schedule. ln addition to this, tor 5122930 they purchased 30 acres of land in the Otterbein area for the site of the fourth district high school. Other routine matters such as approving all purchases and payrolls tor the district schools and the hiring of school personnel took up much of their time at their monthly board meetings. Other Board members besides the president were Mrs. Louise Hillenbrand, John C. Wood, H. Dexter McKay, and John A, Rowland, Jr, Assisting the Board were Glen A. Wilson, superintendent, Princi- pals James A. Faul and Robert J. Schilling, Business Manager John J. Hamilton, and Recording Secretary, Miss Catherine Bidart.
