Superintendent, Board Members Faced THROUGHOUT the history of man the horizon has had a mysterious quality. We can see up to it, but not beyond. Discovering what lies on the other side has been a driving force in man's progress. Each time we have pushed back the horizon we have found a new one much wider and deeper and more intriguing than the last. Each has served as a rung on a ladder putting us within reach of the new horizon ahead. La Puente High School has had many horizons. Hav- ing completed the growth stage and reached ma- turity, the task now is to interpret the meanings of the new horizon ahead. The problems now faced may well be more difficult than were the problems of growth. Education will have an even more im- portant role than before, and our school must prop- erly interpret the needs of the future so that as we reach the goal now in sight we will be prepared for the even newer horizon ahead.
