2 Kim Estes nd Andy Miller became all wrapped up in their wot k trying to win the class Tiig-of-War com test for the Seniors. As the sun rose into the sky and began to gently spread its rays onto the breadth of LaPorte High School, two thousand students waved their farewells to those lazy days of summer once again. A new year of tests and teachers was about to commence. At the time few would have been able to guess at the wide range of experiences to be gained in the upcoming school year, but students, from Freshmen to Seniors, learned a great deal. Not only are Slicers educated by the actual curriculum at LaPorte High School, but they also gain much knowledge from extracurricular activities. In fact, LPHS turns out more than the traditional “readin’, ’writin’, ’rithmetic” skills taught by some other high schools. This institution builds people, so to speak; it matures its students by setting them on the path to adulthood. Therefore, the theme of this edition of the El Pe goes beyond one mere surface idea. Showing the many facets of both the school and its students, the heart of this yearbook is LaPorte High School itself: ANYWAY YOU SLICE IT!
