1988 Seniors — the biggest slice of the pie! Older generations have often claimed that the four years of high school are the happiest years of one’s life. To a certain extent this is true, but what should a student do when a class he wants to take has been cut or his favor- ite teacher has left the school? What if he fails a test that determines his semester grade? How does a teenager deal with peer pressure, and how do students interact with their classmates? Athletes arc under constant stress, during both practice and com- petition. to strive for excellence. High school students are also faced with the continuing difficulty of budgeting their money for college. In spite of the common problems and many more, the class of 1988 was strong enough to challenge and conquer most obstacles. Of course these students were forced to make some adjustments in their ambitions and actions. Still the graduating class has achieved goals that were higher than ever before, and has learned much in the process. Through their struggles from August 1984 until today, this year's seniors have made their mark on LaPorte High School. Perhaps most importantly this year's graduates have gained two major widsoms of life — knowledge and experience. Only the future remains to test these strengths.
