At halftime came the crowning of Diane West as Homecoming queen, Diana Kabelin as 1st Runner-Up. and Jan Whitted as 2nd Runner-Up. The other queen candidates were: Cindy Beck, Rebecca Bellman. Kathy Beiser. Connie Daube. BethGrott. Marianne Guiney. Pat Hiler. Bridgette Lewis. Lucia Manso. Debbie Moffitt. Wendy McCombs. Laura Nunn. Kim Schreiber. Lea Ann Tuholski, and Bonnie Jean Wahlstrom About Homecoming 1978. Steve Clindaniel emphasized. The reason the activities went so well is the fact that the Student Body participated in all activities with great enthusiasm.” After the bonfire, class competition continued as each class was represented in the tricycle race. Everyone then proceeded to Kiwams Field for the football game The Slicers carried the Trojans away with a score of 14 to 12. with the help of the biggest crowd the gridders had seen in awhile. 5

Homecoming '78 Recaptures Spirit After years of fading tradition. Homecoming 1978 recaptured the true spirit of Homecoming On Thurs. Oct. 12 the Homecoming activities began with activities between classes, including a Ho-Ho eating contest, a Three Legged race, a Waterballoon pass, and a Toilet paper wrap-up. The eventual winners were the Juniors At 5 30 p m in front of Lincoln School a car caravan began with the LPHS Pep Band leading the way Awards were given for the best decorated autos The 1st place award was given to Beth Grott; 2nd place went to Bill Hope. 3rd place went to Kim Glanders The car caravan then proceeded to Kesling for a bonfire, where the cheerleaders prepared the crowd for the game Fri. October 13 was named by the Student Council as Terminate the Trojans” day. and it was also orange and black day The events included a pep session during 3rd hour where there was cheering competition between the classes resulting in a close win by the Juniors.
