TENNIS The 1947 tennis team had a mediocre season by winning three and losing five matches. The team, led by Bob and Gene Barker, finished sixth in the Conference. After losing their first match to Mishawaka, they beat Riley and then lost to Elkhart and John Adams. They won the next two games from North Side of Fort Wayne and Goshen and then finished the season with losses to Central and Michigan City. Lettermen were: Bob Barker, Gene Barker, George I.ubs, and William Wandell. Bob Barker was named both captain and most valuable. Coach Prokl. Jim Sallwavser. Gene Barker. Bob Bark-rr, George Lubs, William Wandell GOLF The 1947-48 golf team which finishes its schedule in the spring has done well in win- ning four and losing three meets. Led by Senior Ron Van Vactor and Juniors Ted Hupp and Jim Winkler the team finished third in the Invitational.
