COOKIES TO VIETNAM Last summer school Mrs. Bushatz' Boys' Cooking class baked and sent 280 dozen cookies to Co. D, lst Bn, 506th Inf. , l01st Airborne Division in Vietnam. The cookies, unbroken and unburned, reached Co. D when they had just returned from an engagement that left 48 men killed or wounded out of 60. The Company sent the boys a letter and a plaque tnow in the libraryy and in closing said: ENJOY THE FREEDOM THAT YOU POSSESS AND WE PRAY THAT THE GOODNESS AND LOVE IN YOUR HEART MAY ABOUND FOR ALL. CHRISTMAS CARD TO VIETNAM The project of sending a giant quilt Christmas card to Vietnam developed out of the idea of Mr., Oakes for his first period class to send Christmas cards to Vietnam. Members of the class each put their own Christmas greeting on a piece of cloth and Ann McNeely sewed them all together. The greeting was sent to the First Marine Aircraft Squadron.
