Crowns, flowers, and tears! The second week of November was very exciting for all girls that were nominated for Miss La Palma. The students first voted for twenty girls, then ten, and finally five finalists. These girls were Margaret Cranston, Jean Dwyer, Judy Hart, Lori Mortley, and Theresa Potter. The finalists were taken to lunch at the Foxfire on Friday, November 14, and later Friday night attended the dance to hear the final results. Mr. Hoyt was given the honor of announcing Miss La Palma. The court was Margaret Cranston, Jean Dwyer, and Judy Hart. Lori Mortley was crowned Miss La Palma with Theresa Potter her princess. Mr. Hoyt then escorted Lori down to the dance floor for the next dance. It was a very exciting night and everyone was happy with their new Miss La Palma. 32A iss La Palma
