CHEERLEADERS Each spring, La Palma ' s cheerleaders are chosen according to their ability, performance, and attitude. After much anticipation, the finalists are announced at the Patriot Tea in May! Summer practice is concluded with cheerleading camp presented by Camp of the Champs and sponsored by University of San Diego at La Jolla. There the girls perfected motions, practiced gymnastics and learned to plan pep rallies. As members of student Leadership the cheerleaders are responsible for planning and carrying out pep rallies and pre and post game events. The purpose of cheerleading is not only to perfect motions and lead the student body in cheers but to develop leadership and cooperation among the girls. 74

Sponsor Mrs. Cunningham PEP CLUB This year our Pep Club lias been very helpful in raising spirit for the school. To start out they sold football ribbons which helped them raise money to go to Disneyland. They also had a very successful annual picnic. For Pep Club it ' s truly a Very Good Year!
