Queen Connie and escort, Don Piller. HOMECOMING 1965 Homecoming week began October 25 with the classes preparing floats for the Homecoming parade. On Thursday night, the annual bonfire and pep rally took place. Short pep talks were given by the football captain, Kendall Keutzer, and co-captains, Larry Holloway and Don Piller. Coach Doerner also gave a pep talk on school spirit. Then on Friday the 29th, at 2:30, the parade began. It consisted of class floats, floats from outside organizations, queen candidates, and participants in the pet parade from the Allen Grade School. On the night of the big game, the prize winning floats were announced. The Junior class won first THAT WAS THE place with their Dog-gone Victory . The Senior class won second place with their theme Dunk 'Em . The game found the mighty Lions victorious over the Western Rams with a score of 27 to 6. The annual Homecoming dance followed the game. This year's theme was Golden Autumn . The music was provided by Norm Resor. The crowning of the 1965 Homecoming Queen took place at 11 o'clock. This year's candidates were Connie Martin, Susan Anderson, Carol Molln, and Janice Cogdal. Connie Martin, the Senior candidate, was chosen queen and was crowned by Kendall Keutzer, captain of the football team. All of the Homecoming activities were well attended and enjoyed by all.
