Mr. Pratt served as our class sponsor. Our first duty was to elect officers. Our governing body consisted of: Dwight Becker, Robert Lucas, Wanda Parker, Richard Dilts replaced by Barbara Nickel, Wesley Thompson, George Nothnagel, and Linda Petersen. Wanda Parker was our Homecoming Queen candidate. Dixie Swanlund was selected as Valentine Queen candidate. We also enjoyed the tradition of Freshman Initiation. When we returned in the fall of 1958 we elected the following officers; Robert Lucas, Dixie Swanlund, Linda Petersen, Arlene Diedrick, Dwight Becker, Betty Stuepfert, and George Nothnagel. Mr. Doerner was our class sponsor. Carolyn Gosch was chosen as our Homecoming Queen candidate. Sari jane Becker was elected Valentine Queen. Betty Stuepfert, Sarijane Becker, Carolyn Gosch, and Sharon Krupp were chosen as cast members of the contest play Search Me. In 1959 we returned as upperclassmen. Under the direction of Miss Richmond we elected the following officers: Arlene Diedrick, Carol Flanagan, Diane Gosch, Wayne Goetz, Robert Hassler, Orville Moore, and George Nothnagel. Sandie Denault was chosen our candidate for Homecoming Queen. Diane Phillips was chosen our candidate for the Leap Year Frolic. Our class play Girl From Outer Space directed by Mrs. Bender, was a hit. A most eventful evening was the Junior-Senior Prom, April 30. The theme was Oriental Gardens. The decorations centered around a bridge and a cherry tree in the center of the gym. A huge picture of a mountain decorated the stage. Finally, after four long years, we were in our last year at L.C.H.S. This fact affected each and every one of us a different way. To some it meant freedom and to others it meant the beginning of things ahead. We elected the following to lead us: Robert Lucas, Betty Stuepfert, Linda Petersen, Wayne Goetz, Diane Phillips, Robert Hassler, and Arlene Diedrick. Our sponsor was Mr. Madsen. Our Homecoming Queen candidate was Sharon Krupp. George Nothnagel was chosen for the cast of The Lost Kiss, the one act play. The senior play Bull In A China Shop was a smash hit. Dwight Becker and Betty Stuepfert played lead roles. Mrs. Gillingham directed our play. The Juniors honored us with the Junior-Senior Prom on April 22. The theme was Southern Hospitality. The gym was beautifully decorated in Southern motif. As the school year comes to a close we cheerfully think of the past four years. Each and every day holds a special memory--football games, marching band, plays, basketball games, track meets, dances. The things we've done and the fun we've had will never be forgotten. As we walk up to receive our diploma we may think that high school is the end of one of life's happiest experiences. Graduation is the end of one thing, but also the beginning of another; just a mere stream in the river of life. Yes, our four years are over and we must go on to something new, but, however far away we will always look back to good ole' L.C.H.S. ♦Officers are listed in this order: president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, Student Council representative, G.A.P.C. representative, and reporter. Day — 'Jactcatton The Freshman were informally initiated into the proceedings of the LaMoille Community High School Sept. 19. 1960. It began when the Sophomores gave each Freshman a list of things to wear. Many of the costumes were really a sight to see. The boys, for the most part, were dressed as girls, complete with hats, skirts, earrings, and lipstick. The girls, on the other hand, came with their hair in curlers or pigtails, wore slacks, generally inside out or backwards, burlap bags, necktails, and etc. Each Senior had a slave. One of the illustrious Freshmen served his master whenever called upon to do so. In the afternoon a special program starring The Freshmen was presented. They were given various stunts to perform. These stunts consisted of such things as giving a shampoo with whipped cream, pinning on diapers while wearing boxing gloves, and egg fights, answering proposal while eating a banana, and many others. It was a day enjoyed by all, even the Freshmen. Being a good sport plays the biggest part in the enjoyment of a day such as this. 28 A very surprised Queen, Carolyn Stamberger, is crowned by Cocaptains Dwight Becker and Robert Lucas. 2,uee t Ovett uneco Kt up Sophomore Float wins top prize in the school competition. The year is 1971, the members of the class of 1961 assemble outside the door of the time machine which will take them into the twenty-first century for their class reunion. Waiting to greet us as we arrive is our atomic scientist Robert Lucas, creator of the time machine. After finishing college Robert came here to California to work at Mt. Palomar and invited the class to spend this reunion with him. The brilliant mathematician who helped Robert with this project, Wayne Goetz, was there to add his comments to the party. The first to arrive is Betty Stuepfert, banking tycoon, who came out to buy another bank. Her hobby is collecting banks and she now has one in every state. Following close behind is her private hair stylist Dixie Swanlund. It seems Dixie now works for all the famous women. Speaking of being famous every class must have a movie star and ours is Gorgeous George Nothnagel. He stopped by to greet us on the way to Japan where his new picture is being filmed. Judy Esterday flew in from Nome, Alaska, where she works as a stewardess. Between flights she runs a stewardess school for the Eskimo girls. Following close behind comes Jerri Shearer, she is now secretary to the President of American Airlines. Jerry Simkins, famous daredevil race driver, came in from his home in Illinois. There is owns one of the states biggest race tracks. Dwight Becker, the great All-American football player was in town for a game so it was easy for him to drop by for this get-together. Linda Petersen and her veterinarian husband came to join the festivities from their home in Missouri. Linda is director of the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Barb Nickel, whose riches come from owning most of the largest elevators across the country, drove up to meet us in her new Cadillac. Diane Phillips, Carol Flanagan, and Arlene Diedrick flew in from their penthouse in New York. When they're not working they spend their time trying to find a new variety of lilac tree, one that blooms all year round. Wes Thompson, manager of the National Agricultural Research Foundation came with news from Washington. Kay Barber parachuted from one of her many planes to join us. She is now parachuting instructor for the airlines. Diane Gosch dropped by on her way from the United Nations where she is head interpreter. Harold Dober is now owner of Across Country Truck Lines. Sari and the rest of the family have an apartment in the back of the truck so they can travel with him at all times. Lois King came in wearing the dress she modeled at the latest Paris fashion show. She is now a top model. Wanda Parker drove up in--you guessed it--a Volkswagon. Yes, Wanda and her husband now own Volkswagon Inc. Carolyn Gosch, who is now a governess for Prince Rainier and family, came from France to celebrate with us. Sharon Krupp, Donna Lucas, and Sandie Denault, stopped in Las Vegas on their way to California and decided to stay there. They now own one of the city’s largest casinos. Admiral Joe Miller just arrived from the Hawaiian Islands where he is commander of the Navy base. Diane Perry, designer of Perri evening gowns, came to show us her new creations. Janet Knowlton, famous for the Knowlton reducing plan, came to make sure we all counted our calories. Last but not least, Bob Hassler, Ed Cassidy, and Dick Bonnell made an appearance. They were busy on a case. You see, they are now private detectives, their specialty--glamorous movie stars. Just in case anyone should need their services they can be reached at 78 Sunset Strip.
