I, Joyce Drummer, do will to Mary Nothnagel my ability to get out of gym class when ever I want to. Class Prophecy Dear Diary: Yesterday I attended a reunion of my last high school graduating class--the class of '56. It was held in the cool breezes beneath the swaying palms of Hawaii. I was surprised at the futures which many of them have made for themselves . The guest of honor was Carole Hoffert, first woman President of the United States. Other distinguished guests included Richard Feik, who replaced Clark Gable as the King of the motion picture world; Irene File and Jerry Hild, who have taken over the spot formerly held by Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis. They do a sister and brother vaudeville act. LaMoille's gift to the serious music world is Larry Fenwick, who conducts the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. LaMoille will also represent America in the Olympics with three entries. Ernestine Lucas will enter the lady's wrestling division, and Nancy Heiserman is asurebetto win the pole vault. I hardly need to mention that Sharon Meuser will take top honors in the cross country bicycle race. All three have studied with Thomas DeLong', famous for his body building therapy with kindergarten children. Wilbur Nordstrom is well-known as a writer, though not in the usual sense of the word. He specializes in income tax evasion. Eugene Husser is also a writer. He writes a famous advice to the lovelorn column under the pen name of Aunt Mary . Jack Swans on has been fortunate enough to be willed the ownership of the Arthur Murray Dance Studios, which he now runs. Also well-known, but for a different reason, is Pat Whalen. She is famous for having the only living set of sextuplets. In somewhat the same vocation. Dale Stuepfert makes his living taming lions. Florian Shevokas is a noted judge for bathing beauty contests, and Charlene Billhorn is the latest leader of the boy scout movement in America. Some of our number went abroad shortly after graduation. Roger Browder made his name as a hair stylist in Paris. Also in France is Neil Becker, who tests women's perfumes for their alluring qualities. Charlene Leffelman is a celebrated world traveler, only woman to have entered the forbidden city of Mecca disguised as a camel. Anne Beattie has had her name immortalized in the business world as the manufacturer of the latest breakfast food craze Beattie's Wheaties , the breakfast of Chimpanzees. Alan Jontz, the renowned designer of wigs and toupees, is located in Nome, Alaska. His neighbor is Bob Brown, who manufactures cigars. The former Rita Bickett is now Mrs. R. L. Dean, at work designing practice sets for her husband. Annette Stuepfert, who is the latest unwilling disciple of age-regressing hypnotism, discovered recently that she is the second re-incarnation of Cleopatra. Janet Bauer is a Powers model specializing in red flannel underwear. Ronald Adkins has finally found an occupation to his liking. He is a mattress tester. Carol Savoure, whd always had a kind heart, became a social worker. She builds nests for homeless birds. Still going steady after thirty years are Joyce Drummer and Jack Chalden. They work side by side in the Campbell's soup factory. She cuts letters for the alphabet soup and he splits peas for the split-pea soup. Adrienne Boulay had to leave the convent to attend the meeting. She told us about how she often puts flovers on the graves of the poor departed creatures in the nearby cat and dog cemetery. She frequently stops to chat with her old friend. Bob Hohertz, who digs graves for the unfortunate dogs and also runs a Hot Dog Concession outside the gates. John D. Kushan, Ph. D; A.B.A.; Ph. X.; R.S.V.P.; was there also. He flew straight from Stockholm after winning the Nobel prize for the third time. His latest project is a complete analysis of the teen-age mind. It was a wonderful day! Class Of ’56 We were young and inexperienced when we entered L.C.H.S. in the fall of '52, but we had to start some time. We elected as our officers Neil Becker, President; Richard Feik, Vice President; Carol Pinter. Secretary; Joyce Drummer, Treasurer; Adrienne Boulay and Irene File, Reporters; Jack Swanson, Student Council Representative; Mrs. Mowers, Mr. Gross and Mr. LaBounty, Sponsors. Our homecoming queen was Irene File. On September 19, 1952, came the day we looked forward to with hopes that it would be fun, initiation. After dressing as the sophomores told us and doing all the silly things the seniors made us do, we gladly took the refreshments given us by the juniors. During the year we lost Curtis Floto and gained Ann Dunseth. We now had 33 members in our class. The seniors left us nothing because it was all we deserved, or so they said. We had gained for ourselves a niche in the school, and we set out determined to do better in 1953. We elected Neil Becker, President; Richard Feik, Vice President; Carol Pinter, Secretary; Joyce Drummer, Treasurer; Adrienne Boulay Irene File, Reporters; Bob Hohertz, Student Council Representative; Miss Bower and Miss Hauge, Sponsors. Annette Stuepfert was our homecoming queen. We lost Gladys Rasmussen, Rita Bickett, and Joan Neidetcher during the year. We gained Lyle Younglove, Bernard Hoschied and Nancy Heiserman. The seniors again left us nothing because they thought that it was all we deserved, but we were beginning to be used to it. When we returned in 1954 we really knew the ropes, but we realized that our high school days were going by swiftly. This year we elected Richard Feik, President; Neil Becker, Vice President; Carol Pinter, Secretary; Annette Stuepfert, Treasurer; Bob Hohertz, Student Council Representative; Irene File, Alan Jontz, Reporters. We elected Jack Chalden, President; Bob Brown, Vice President; Neil Becker, Secretary; Roger Browder, Treasurer; Richard Feik, Student Council Representative; Irene File, Alan Jontz, Reporters; Mr. Kushan and Mr. Sellers, Sponsors. Our homecoming queen was Nancy Heiserman. Annette Stuepfert was chosen by the class and faculty to receive the D.A.R. award. The juniors honored us with the Jr.-Sr. Prom on May 12. We lost Ann Dunseth, Karen Bentley, and Betty Brown, while gaining Roger Browder. On June 1, 1956, we became the first class to graduate from the new high school. BACK ROW, left to right: Jerry Pierson, Ronald Moore, Suzi Drummer, Janis Steele, Clifford Brown, David Stuepfert, Bruce Beattie. FRONT ROW: Aldina Fusinetti, Ronald Johnson, Rita Hassler, Richard Haas, Judy Robbins, Lynn Stivers, Jeanette Fischer. Class Of ’57 We were frightened little innocents when we entered the halls of L.C.H.S. in the fall of '53, but we decided to make a go of it. We elected the following officers to try to guide our class in the right directions: Bruce Beattie, President; Ronnie Johnson, Vice President; Janis Steele, Secretary-Treasurer; Nancy Ugland, Reporter; David Stuepfert, Student Council Representative; Mrs. Mowers, Mr. Baxter, Sponsors. Our class queen was Janis Steele. On September 28, 1953, came that fatal day set aside for initiation. The sophomores dressed us up and the seniors put us through our paces. We welcomed the refreshments the kind-hearted juniors served us. During the year we lost Ruby Walker. In the fall of '54 we returned to L.C.H.S. It seemed less frightening. We elected officers as follows: Ronnie Johnson, President; David Stuepfert, Vice President; Janice Thone, Secretary; Jeanette Fischer, Treasurer. Our sponsors were Mr. Baxter and Mr. Janott. Our queen was Jeanette Fischer. During the year we lost Eddie Fultz, Darlene Bonnell, and Janice Thone, and gained Aldina Fusinetti and Mary Jane Nothnagel. We elected the following officers: Richard Haas, President; Lynn Stivers, Vice President; Judy Robbins, Secretary; Rita Hassler, Treasurer; Janis Steele and Aldina Fusinetti, Reporters; Donna Grothen. Martini, Directorial Staff, Goodwin Memorial Theater. Sheffield won first. Ohio second, and Wyanet third. LaMoille, Neponset, Manlius, and Tiskilwa also participated. Adrienne Boulay won Best Major Role for Girls for her portrayal of Anna, a prisoner of the commandant. Science Club Einstein’s Understudies of 1955-56 had all the qualities of a reposing, docile, and deviational club which did little to aid science, but did improve one’s sense of humor and helped emotional strain. At the first meeting the following mendacious officers were chosen; Bob Hohertz, president; Annette Stuepfert, vice president; Joyce Drummer, secretary-treasurer; Pat Whalen, reporter; R’on Adkins, program chairman; and the program committee which consisted of Neil Becker, Alan Jontz and Jack Swanson. Mr. Kushan, our sane, sound, (dubiously stated) and fair science teacher, was director and censor of all activities. Among these activities were nature hikes (more like troop formations and squad drills), quizzes, and discussions, some of which deviated slightly from the cause of science. In the end I believe that we found that our love of nature had been improved slightly, and we had formed a most illustrious group of high school debators. As the year comes to a close, we of the science club of 55-56 wish the incoming members the best of love of nature and humor, and do hope they may improve on many things, including Robert’s Rules of Order.
