Senior Class History On September 7, 1948, twenty-nine freshman sailed into the halls of L.C.H.S. on the good ship Learning to start across the Sea of Knowledge . The following were chosen to run the ship; captain, Jacqueline Drummer; 1st. mate, Vivian Meyer; 2nd. mate, Roger King; navigator, Mr. Sellers; and log keepers, Marilyn Barger and Patricia Kessel. On September 28, we were initiated by the sophomores and seniors. During the year we lost Mary Khor, Tom Underwood, James Brown, and Vivian Meyer. Eileen Einsele became 1st. mate. September 6, 1949, twenty-five sophomores sailed once again into L.C.H.S. to continue their voyage. We elected: captain, Jack Weeks; 1st. mate, Marva Lou Fetzer; 2nd. mate, Irma Dissinger; navigator, Mr. Sellers; log keepers, Marilyn Barger and Roger King. At the end of this year, Emily Sarrizan transferred to Hall Twp. In the Fall of 1950 we sailed back into the Hallsof L.C.H.S. This year we chose: captain, John Lundgren; 1st mate, Jacqueline Drummer; 2nd. mate, Jack Weeks; navigators, Mrs. Bender and Mrs. Duncan. Vivian Meyer came back to L.C.H.S. after spending a year at Mendota High. We lost Wayne Plumier during this year. One of the exciting moments during the junior year was the arrival of our class rings in January. On April 4, we presented the play Are You Mr. Butterworth? We were hosts to the seniors at the annual junior-senior banquet on April 28. In September of 1951 twenty-three seniors started the last lap of our voyage. Marva Lou Fetzer and Dale Maloy did not return and Wyman Billington came to join us from St. Louis. We lost Fred Koch during the year. John Lundgren was again chosen captain. The rest of the crew included: 1st. mate, Irma Dissinger; 2nd. mate, Mildred Strobel; and navigators, Mr. Baxter and Mr. Zimmer. This year we enjoyed making the poor freshman suffer. We won first prize with our class float at the homecoming. Our class play, Sandy Shows The Town , was presented November 29, Mildred Strobel was chosen by the class and faculty to recieve the D.A.R. award. The juniors honored us on May 10, with their junior senior prom. Senior Class night was held on May 16. On May 21, the seniors enjoyed a day in Chicago. The day was spent sight-seeing and was brought to a close by seeing a stage play. We received our diplomas on May 29th, climaxing a very memorable four years of our lives. 7 FRONT ROW, LEFT TO RIGHT: Janice Bomleny, Mildred Strobel, Eileen Einsele, Elaine May, Margaret DeLong, Donna Husser, Mr. Baxter. We, the Class of 1952, having made up our minds, do hereby seal this our last will and testament -- the 16th day of May, 1952. 9 Class Prophecy Here we are holding our class reunion in the Palmer House in Chicago just twenty years after we graduated from L. C. H. S. As we look around the room we see Margaret DeLong, a former math teacher, now married to J. G. Highpockets, oil millionaire. At the table next to us we spot Ronald Hoscheid and Robert Becker, now the co-owners of the Cadillac Corporation. Roger Einstein Harris is with them. He just re -turned from the moon. We cross the room and struggle through reporters and past grinding TV cameras till we spot three of our grads who are now celebrities. Marilyn Barger, who finally got off to Washington, is currently running for president, and Wyman H. Billington, a Missourian, is running opposite her. John Lundgren (The Walter Winchell of our day) is sitting between them and getting his latest scoop. At an -other table we spot Eileen Einsele, former Du Pont secretary. Eileen made a fortune a couple of years ago from her invention of a shorthand pen. Eileen relates that Anna Marie Schmidt is a famous fashion designer for MGM. Elaine May Keutzer came in late. She had trouble finding someone to stay home and take care of her little Marines. The reporters stampede for the door and we look up to see Pat Kessel, the biggest star at Warner Brothers, carrying the Oscar she won for her role in All About Patricia. Across the room we spot Vivian Meyer, now Mrs. John Galetti, who operated a salami place in Cherry. Seated with Viv is Jack Weeks, who owns the biggest ranch this side of the Mississippi. Naomi Robbins rushes in and tells us that she is now doing social work here in Chicago. A high-powered car drives up and Jackie Drummer, who is now running a gambling casino in Las Vegas, enters. She states that she is awaiting a divorce from her 7th or 8th husband, she can't remember which! I suppose everyone read in the papers about Irma Dissinger's husband, Lowell McCormick, and his frozen food process. By the way, Sally Blackwell has fullfilled her life ambition to get married and have five children. She is now living on a farm southwest of LaMoille. Dorothy Jackson, who has made a name for herself in the interior decorating field, has just finished doing the Waldorf. Janice Bomleny has just returned from London where she has been governess to the royal family for the past fifteen years. The last person to enter is Mildred Strobel, who retired from a great stage career and is now teaching on the West Coast. I guess it’s getting late for I can see the sun rising over Lake Michigan, so we leave our reunion of the 1952 graduates. We sincerely hope that we will all meet again in the near future. 10 Custodians Stanley Byczynski Charles Rapp Bus Drivers left to right: Dewey Drummer John Blackwell Charles Wamhoff Clifford Maloy John Schwabenland SCHOOL BU5 5TDP DN IDNAL 11 FRONT ROW, LEFT TO RIGHT: Darlene May, Elaine Loebach, Kathleen Keutzer, Rheta Haefner, Naida Clark, Marlene Kolp, Eleanor Bauer. Almost every boy in school participates, either in extramural or in intra-mural. LaMoille is a member of the Little-Eight conference in football, and the Little-Eight and BLP conferences in track and basketball. This year's teams were manned by freshmen and sophomores. With the exception of Weeks and King, every player will be back next year which makes prospects bright for the future. Lions’ Club All letter winners in sports are members of the Lions' Club. Awards for each sport are mentioned on its page. In the picture below the following were not present or had not yet received an award. Football On August 29, LaMoille started football practice. Twenty-two men came out. Bob Hall, Joe Beattie, and Jack Weeks were lettermen. The Neponset and Bureau Twp. games were played in daylight, the other seven were night games. At the end of the season, the Booster Club sponsored a banquet honoring the football team. The improvement award went to Joe Bickett while Jack Weeks was chosen captain for the year by his teammates. Letter winners were Harold Sellers, Jim Becker, Bob Hall, Jack Weeks, Dale Carter, Joe Bickett, Dave Schmitz, Jim Geiger, Roger Weller, Richhrd Faber, and John DeLohg. Numerals went to Ronnie Becker, Carmen Beat-tie, Jim Stamberger, Garth Conard, Ken Swanlund, and Don Watson. Delbert Fetzer received the manager's letter. A bright season lies ahead with all of our experienced men returning except Jack Weeks, senior, and Dale Carter, who moved away. The outlook for a successful season appeared very dim. Only two lettermen, Bob Hall and Harold Sellers, returned from last year's squad. This was definitely a rebuilding year and the lineup at the first of the season varied greatly. As a result of the two highest free throw percentages Roger King and Jimmy Becker won tickets to the Sweet Sixteen tournament at Champaign. The Lions finished up the season with the following conference records: B.L.P.,4 won, 4 lost; Little Eight, 3 won, 6 lost. At the end ot the season the Booster Club honored the squad at a banquet. The guest speaker was Stix Morley, head basketball coach at Western State Teachers College. The letter winners were Becker, King, Weller, Hall, Sellers, and Fetzer. Jimmy Becker won the most improved player trophy and Roger King was chosen captain for the year. Track On April 1st, the Lions opened their 1952 track practice with 15 boys reporting to Coach Zimmer. Due to inexperience, the view of a successful season appeared very dim. The varsity team placed 2nd, 3rd, 3rd, and 4th in four meets, 3rd in the B.L.P., and 7th in the Little Eight. The frosh-soph lost to Mendota, won from Ohio and Manlius and finished the season by winning the trophy for first place in the Little Eight. Marlene Kolp was elected track queen for the Little Eight meet. In the Little Eight frosh-soph meet, LaMoille set the following records: 440 yd. relay (DeLong, Schmidt, Weller, and Hall) -- a new school record of 49.4 sec.; R. Weller, a new Little Eight record in discus --111 feet 7 l 2 inches. J. Schmidt tied Little Eight record in 100 yd. dash at 10.8 and set new 220 yd. dash record of 24.2. Due to the fine showing of the frosh-soph the view for next year appears very bright. The letter winners were: B. Hall, J. DeLong, J. Schmidt, J. Stam- berger, R. Weller, D. Thompson, K. Swanlund, D.
