GL L ,L v -.-tg 1 L- V at A .ik La Lumiere track has always been impor- tant, but for the 1988 season, La Lumiere has introduced future stars. A newcomer to La Lumiere track, but not to track - Tom Pe- chous brought his talent in the pole vault and his running ability to us, Brendon Wilkinson has become one of La Lumiere's elite iron- men. Dan Duerkop brought his sheer sprint- ing ability to grace us. In introducing our future stars, we must not forget our old -faith- fuls. David Kennedy, another iron man lead the lakers once again in the long distance events. Geza Owen-Fekete and Vytas Kas- niunas shone as our two-milers. Pat Boulac is one ofthe all-area jumpers, and Jon Nicosia is an all-area discus thrower. This season three Lakers broke school records: Tom Pe- chous cleared 14'0 in the pole vault, Pat Boulac long jumped 21 '10 and David Ken- nedy set the mile record with a 4:43. 110 2 X Our very own Mr. Tracy Elliott

Girls Tra Girls Track was looking up in l988. The recruits were soaring this year, and star athletes were discov- ered. Freshman Shonda Decker was a valuable hurdler and sprinter tor La Lumiere. Pia Rizza also backed the team with her fast paced long dis- tance ability. Juniors such as Sarah Kennedy and Jamie Peterson were vital to the team with their sheer talent. Seniors were an asset to team spirit. Coach Bliese was the stronghold behind the girls. Shonda, Watch out for that hole.
