His contribution has touched in meaningful ways every part of the school, from the classroom to the athletic field. Significantly, he es¬ tablished the LAMPLIGHTER and has directed this student activity with originality and wit. Most of all, he has in some way affected each of our lives for the better, for which no word can adequately do justice. MOORE HEADMASTER ' S LETTER This book wonderfully depicts the achievements at La Lumiere at the end of the first five years — halfway through the first decade. Ambitious plans for the second half of this decade have already been launched, in a far-reaching La Lu¬ miere Development plan. These plans point toward sound physical and fiscal re¬ sources that the school of distinction must possess to fully serve each boy who at¬ tends. Growth must and will come. However, our primary concern will always be the individual student. Never can we lose sight of him whose best interests can only be served by a concerned, alert, scholarly community. Each boy must always feel that by his very presence he contributes in significant ways, and in turn that he re¬ ceives from his peers and the faculty the sustenance and understanding each human being requires. This class of 1969 has contributed so much to La Lumiere. One area stands out, and that is the way this class has logically, cogently, and responsibly devel¬ oped our student government. The academic achievement as a group has been remarkable, but their contribution to the La Lumiere community as young men of responsible action will be a heritage and a foundation for every future class. Consequently, the Trustees and I are most proud to welcome this class as alumni to La Lumie re ' s future. RONALD L. DeNARDO Director of Athletics English REV. JOSEPH SEDLAK Chaplain 16 JAMES W.
