SENIOR CLASS HIS TOR! Twelve years ago on 5. bright morning, early in Sept- ember, ten excited and frightened children began twelve adventurous years in the Old Brain Factory, at LaGrange. The class of '48 started out in 1936 with Margaret Brady, Afton Green, Vernon Hegwood, Ellis Kessler, Lewis Kit-Jin, Beverly Sawyer, Dorothy Walters, Robert Wayne warner, Winiferd Warner, Glenn Wendt. In the third year, Warren Blanton, from Sixty-Six, Betty Logan, from Nebraska, Clifford Wells, from Lingle, Wyoming, James Beckhuis, and Roy Schamhorst from Kimball, Nebraska joined our class. In 1940, Raymond Wheeler ca.me from Greybull, Wyoming. The last semester of the eighth grade Myra Sanders came from Kennewick Washington. In the eighth grade all the class took part in a grade school operetta. In 1943, this ambitious class made it's entrance into high school with the following enrollment: Myra Sanders, Norma Lee Atkinson, Warren Blanton, Clifford 'wells , Glenn Wendt, Roy Scharnhorst, Levcls Kirlin, Tom Hall and Afton Green. .For our initiation the boys had to dress like a girl, and the girls had to wear overalls backwards. For the carnival in our sophomore year, we gave a pantomime play with all the class taking part.

In our Junior year we gave our class play l'Flat Tires , November 15, 1946. On May 2, 1947, we gave the Junior- senior prom, sponsored by Mrs. Reser. We used a Hawaiian theme. This year the class members are: Glenn Wendt , with four years on first team, Roy Scharnhorst with three on first and one on second, Lewis Kirlin with three on first and one on second, Tom Hall with two on first and two on second,, Afton Green with four on first, Jim Rossnan with three on first and one on second, Ray Schuppan from Harrisburg, Nebraska, with three years on first and one on second, and Myra Sanders . the only girl. Baccalaureate, which took place on May 9, which was the first step toward the seniors' freedom. The long awaited diplomas were received at Commencenment May 13, 1948.
