Semor Class Prophecy ln the year 1963 I Warren Wh1te started out early one mornlng to look over some reglstered cattle that I had just rece1ved from a large stock breeder who l1ved near La Grange MISSOUFI I looked up and saw a beat up old car comzng across the pasture toward me When mt came to a rattling halt out stepped a man 1n ragged pants and beat up hat I recognlzed h1m as my partner Robert Nunn He had been on a tr1p to Par1s and whlle over there he had gotten mto a game of chance and lost all of h1s money Bemg under the mfluence of buttermllk he had pawned h1s watch to get money to return home The watch had been a valuable keepsake and now was wantmg me to go back vuth h1m to Par1s to get 1t back We rolled the b1g Cadillac out of the garage the next mornmg and went to New York and boarded a sh1p for Par1s We had to wa1t an hour at the dock for a sallor who was k1ss1ng h1s wxfe good bye Around h1m and h1s w1fe were s1x klds Upon h1s arr1val on deck we recogn1zed h1m as an old classmate Donald Sherman We talked to h1m and found that he had mar rled h1s school sweetheart the former Marjorle Sue .Tob Donald sa1d that he and Marjor1e Sue had bought a small home and started a famlly Donald could not stand the nolse that the ch1ldren made so he enl1sted 1n the Navy Donald wanted to know 1f we had met the hard bo1led capta1n who was also an old classmate Donald Waterman After gettmg out of school he had marrled a movle actress and gone on wlth h1s Naval career that he had started w1th the Naval Reserve whlle 1n hlgh school We sa1d we had not met h1m yet but later on that evenmg we got a spec1al 1nv1tat1on from h1m to come down to h1s cabm We went down and talked over some of the good tlmes that we had had at old L H S our two former classmates good bye After leavlng the Shlp we declded to eat a lunch We entered a small restaur ant along the seashore and 1mmed1ately recognxzed the wa1tress an old classmate from L H S Reva Joyce G1bson Reva sa1d she had come to Par1s two years after graduatmg and bought th1s restaurant Whlle eatmg 1n xx alks D1ck Kramer We d1d not recognlze h1m because he was wearmg horn rlmmed glasses Reva brought h1m over to us and asked us 1f we recogn1zed h1m D1ck then took off h1s glasses and we recogn1zed h1m 1rnrned1ately D1ck sa1d that he was a pro fessor of one of the leadmg colleges for women He lnvlted us to go wlth h1m and see the college We pa1d for our meal and left w1th D1ck Upon arrlval at the college he took us to h1s offlce and xntroduced us to h1s two secretar1es, Helena Geery and Evelyn Vaughn We talked to Evelyn and she sa1d that she l1ked her Job f1ne because It was such a good pay1ng Job She sa1d that she was marrled and had one Chlld As we were leavmg the Off1Ce Helena handed us an 1nv1tat1on to her and D1ck s Weddmg whlch was to occur 1n the followlng month After leavmg the college we started lookmg for the pawn shop We found It m a prosperous lookmg bus1ness sectlon of the c1ty There was a s1gn on the front whlch said Henry s Swap Shop We Went 1n and presented our tlcket to the pro prletor We recognlzed h1m as another one of our classmates from L H S Arnold Tlemann We talked to Arnold and he sa1d that he was marrled and had a ten year old son O .
