McCleary whom God has called from our midst during the last year of our schooling. Mr. McCleary was well liked by both students and neighbors. He taught mathematics civics, and English. Those of us who knew Mr. McCleary will always remember him for his patience, his sincerity, and his constant guidance. To the wisdom of maturity he added a youthful outlook which made him respected and loved by all. 'Qi- , - II I EC 0 N' I N l I ' ' A 5 L PRESENTATION -I ' DEDICATION -I 8 I I CONTENTS V TRUSTEE 81. Congratulations are in order. In your struggle to reach this plateau you have obtained an education. Your future success in life will depend upon how you add to, or use this education. An education is like treasures in heaven. It can not be lost, nor can thieves break in and take it from us. Yet, it is unlike treasures in heaven because it can rust and corrode. And this is what we must keep up a constant effort all through life to keep from happening. Because an education that becomes rusty and corroded is almost as useless as no education. So, in your travels through life, as you advance from one plateau to another, keep in mind that he who stops learning also stops living. Sincerely, P. A. CLASS PROPHECY We have no original scheme by which to predict what the future will bring to the seniors of 1956. Here are our ideas of what they will be doing in ten years, 1966. Ion Cooper - Once upon a time little Jon Cooper tried to fly out the upstairs window. Now since little Jon has grown up he flies a jet plane for the Speedy Spider Netting Co. . Inc. Patty Brown - Patty has recovered nicely from her accident and is now the worlds greatest trapeeze artist. David Rogers - This young man has climbed very high up the ladder of success. He is now chief fireman of the huge fire department of LaFontaine. Phyllis Faust - Phyllis always made plans to be a nurse, but a certain doctor made other plans and she is now his wife. 9 S My f X . if X, , xg.,XR XX' 2 fax-ld Bill McCullough - Here is that great guitar picker. Bill is now appearing on the Grand Ole Opera. Phyllis Gauntt - We find Phyllis an instructor for the Chicago Rollerena Academy. Larry Jennings - We always knew Larry would, one day be a great pool player. But because he threw away so much money in high school, he is now bankrupt. Dixie Endsley - After many years Dixie's ambition has come trueg she is the first and youngest lady president of the United States. Bob Eppley - Bob is now in New York City where he is uying to take Jimmy Dean's place in the movies. x . X . 3 K. u kg - f Wirth, '23' xx 'POP' K C 'J' QSXN-wg fp 'J 19:63 , N Wt SENIOR PROPHESY fcommueay Ann Hall - We find this girl has changed quite a lot since her school days. Ann travels around the world selling her Bikini bathing suits. Jerry Kendall - Jerry is now manager of a women's lingerie shop in New York. We believe Jerry will always remain a bachelor. Freda Moorman - Freda is married and has 12 children. She heard it was cheaper by the dozen. Don Jervis - Mr. Jervis hoped that Don would be a farmerg but today we find him in one of the strangest contests ever held in the U. S. He and I. B. M. 's new electronic brain are racing to see who can first correctly calculate the number of drops of water that fall over Niagra Falls in one day, Zana McClurg - Looking into the future, we see Zana in Madison Square Garden as a famous wrestler. WE always thought she would make competition for Liberace. Stanley Owen - Mr. Owen's hopes were that Stan would stay home and take up where he left off-raising chickens, So he did. He owns and manages the largest chicken farms in the midwest. Marguerite Allen - After 10 years Maggie has finally made a clear picture. More people will send their films to Allen's Studio, now. Sherman Grim - Since Sherman had a lot of practice in his school days, he is presently the owner of the largest taxi service in Hollywood. LaVon Melick - Because she was such a good bowler in her high school days, LaVon has taken up bowling professionally. Jeanette Cable and Dana Sutton - We find these two working together. Jeanette is a beautician on the staff under Ern Eastmore. Dana was a manicurest, but she had some bad luck her first few months - cutting off fingers. Jeanette has persuaded her to be a barber for men. She is trying for larger stakes. R W W ' mxwwwx D 3 KN ,fi- ,,.. ,Z4ef5?- 0 K 1100? Q 6 K 1 .sim . X I 5 't LQQ.,.,1-.-: x - . 1- . Judy Harper - Judy is now the Editor of the New York Times. Heading her all make staff is her former cohort, J. T. Hill. Dixie Brown - Dixie is Perry Como's private secretary. She thinks this is one way she might hook herself a man. Allen Owen - It seems as though Al was the only one who kept his promise. Yes, he now has laid the last brick to the LaFontaine gym. He still feels the effects of intoxication. Marilyn Kistler - Marilyn has changed some, She gives tap dancing lessons to the small children of LaFontaine. She owns her own studio. Lewis Martin - We find that Lewis has--No !! it can't be--but he is playing with the Minneapolis Ponds, breaking all sorts of scoring records. The Ponds haven't won a game in 5 years. Bob Smith - From Bob's dainty childhood we see he has developed into a great he-man . He is a boxer at the LaFontaine Boxing Arena. There's nothing startling or even unusual about the name--except to one Henry Gilcrest. You see, just the name Ernest sends Henry into shock. It all started when Henry's boss fired him and his irl friend threw him overboard and Aunt Ethel order- ed him from her boarding house because of no rent money. Well, poor homeless, girl-less and jobless Henry, spending the night in a park, meets one, Mr. Bumpus. He pours out his troubles to Mr. Bumpus, who tells him life has dealt him a miserable blow and he has a friend named Ernest who, for only 317. 83, gets poor downtrodden souls like Henry out of their misery. So Henry, in his pitiful, forlorn condition, pays the money, goes back home and finds fly Aunt Ethel is ready to forgive him, f2j his girl wants another chance, f3J his boss has given him a raise, my life was never happier and better and--BOING--he remembers he's paid his last cent to someone named Ernest to get him out of this world. Needless to say, he's really in misery now, especially when virtually everyone he encounters is named Ernest. There's Margie's beau, Ernie. lMargie is Aunt Ethel's daughter.J Ernie hails from Texas, and Henry just knows he's a gun- slinger. Then there's old maid Ernestine who's writing a murder mystery. Henry hears her discussing it with her sister, Clarissa, and thinks they're plotting his demise. Then there's C. E. Grimm, head of the Grimm Harvester Company, and maker of the very famous Grimm Reaper. Needless to say everything turns out swell and Henry and Gladys live happily. . . happily , well yes, ever after. Henry Gilcrest CAST Robert Smith Aunt Ethel . . . Joyce Rapp Margie ....
