Robert Bennett was led to bet ten thousand dollars that he could tell the truth for twenty-four hours. Those betting against him were E. M. Ralston, Dick Donnelly and Clarence Van Dusen. They all went home with Bob that night to keep him from hiding and also to get him to tell a lie. Trying every trick that they knew, they got Bob into some embarrassing situations that infuriated his fiance, Gwendolyn Ralston, and her mother. Finally working on his love for Gwen, the conspirators got Bob into a situation that he couldn't get out of without revealing the bet to Gwen. Revealing the bet was against the rules, so he had to get out of it some other way. With three minutes until the bet was to end, he began to stall for time. This accomplished his purpose and he immediately began to lie to clear himself. The ushers were Ibrothy McGinnis, Aletha Flltingberger, Joyce Purdy, Jerry Johnson, and Margaret Stevenin.
