emor CALM ,Maier All abuardl All aboard' As most things which move upward our rocket ship filled with 51 members of the freshman class started from the carrrpus of LaCrosse High School on September Z 1946 with M155 Sara Hay and M155 Laura Stacey as co pilots Tohead our rising group the students chose Jean Hardwick Hilas Kjellson Margaret Wilson Oren Miller Harold Ochs and Marjorie Renz After nine months of struggle and hard ship our rocket ship stopped for a three months vacation On September 1947, we returned from this vacation to resume our trip as sopho mores On our return we found that we had lost somewhere along the way ten passen gers Richard Holopirek Mildred Jacobs Darlene Edwards Mary Adams Floyd Wilson I-I1lasKJel1son Everett Scheuerman Donald Wilson Dennis Herrman and Donald beth Wood Clifton Seaman Phyllis Seaman Dorothy Wagner Karoll Wagner and Evan geline Stejskal To Operate our rocket ship we chose M155 Deda De Young and Melvin Long Those chosen to lead our group this year were D B Mathews President K Driver Vice President Harold Ochs Secretary and Oren Miller Treasurer In the middle of May our rocket ship stopped and we dismissed for our annual vacation Our studies called us again and on Sep tember 6 1948 we began the third lap of our trip Our operators this trip were Mrs Faith Stone and Raymond Barnett Those that were lost along the way were Elizabeth Wood and Vera Kopsky Those who Joined us were Frances Murphy Dar lene Edwards and Donald Dykes D B Mathews President Oren Miller Vice President K Driver Secretary Marjorie Renz Treasurer and Donald Dykes Busi ness Manager led us through this phase of our Journey Many exciting things happened during l3h1S part of our trip While we were traveling toward our goal Donald Dykes was crowned Band Carnival King A Case of Springtime a class play was presented by some of our passengers The high light of the year was the Junior Senior Banquet and Prom Our rocket ship stopped again for a few months before our senior lap of the trip On September 5 1949 we were sum moned back to our rocket sh1p to complete our trip toward the glorious goal gradu ation We were filled with pride and Joy and were eager to really make this Journey worth while because we knew this would be our last ride in dear old L H S were chosen as our operators on our last flight D B Mathews President John Lig gett Vice President Harold Ochs Secre tary Marjorie Renz Treasurer and Don ald Dykes Business Manager were also elected to lead us Looking around we find we have lost Evangeline Stejskal and Darlene Edwards We also made the new acquaintance of Annabelle O Brien and Patricia St John There were many bright spots on this Journey including the banquet wh1ch was given by the Juniors Another highlight was the crowning of Jean Hardwick as Band Carnival Queen The play N0 Mgon To night was presented by the class We have now reached our goal which we have been striving toward for the past 12 years From now on It 15 for us as 1nd1v1d uals to make this a better world in which to live 28 5 O ' 1 . .
