Text from Pages 1 - 86 of the 1973 volume:

1 972 - I 973 Procedo This Years 1972 - 1973 PROCEDO is dedicated to Mrs. Frances Jenkins. She has taught here at LaCenter for the past 14 years. This year she will be retiring. Here at LaCenter, she is our Librarian, and also for the last 8 years, she has been the advisor of our yearbook. Whenlasked how she felt about advising the yearbook, her reply was, I think it is quite inter- esting to advise the yearbook, and only two years out of the eight have been hard. I have had good luck with the girls and boys who have been the editor of Procedo , When asked what Procedo meant, she told me it meant - to lead and go ahead. It is taken from the latin word Pro- ceed. So it is pronounced Pro-cee-do. For a good many years now we have been pronouncing it wrong. We hope that Mrs. Jenkins will have many happy memories of LaCenter High School, and We Want to wish her Good Luck in the years to come Thank you Mrs. Jenkins for all of the help you have given us through the years. Procedo Editor Principal Secretary Mr. Clay Fox Mrs. Waugh LaCenter High School is experiencing a period of rapid change. The enrollment increase, subdivisions, metropolitan influences and the emerging role of the student all point to a new LaCenter High School. A colorful football team, a winning basketball squad, a more comprehensive curriculum, and an outstanding Stage Band have all been steps in building a better high school. The faculty and community commend the seniors for their contributions. The under- classmen and staff pledge a continued effort to blaze a brighter image for the blue and white. Superintendent Secretary Dr. Blayne Perleth Mrs. Jackson Congratulations class of l973! I am both envious and concerned about the challenge the future presents to you. Personally you will be challenged by an ever wider range of accepted andfor tolerated per- sonal behavior. This wide range of personal choice will in time prove to be more frustrating than you may pre- sently imagine. A key in personal decision making is that it should be projected into the future and your personal behavior should not have a harmful effect in the present or future of your life or those with whom you associate. In summary, you have personal, creative, and employ- ment opportunities of a magnitude unknown to previous generations. Consequently you will have tougher per- sonal decisions created by the latitude of your choices. -JAQWZM4 Dr. Blayne Perleth Superintendent of Schools Mrs ., Hunter, i Mrs. Relyea, Mrs. Dunn ' l M ,Q . ,'f,,'1sLvL:f5fggz?0f5Jgg65Y,r 2 , V XA f 'a se2?fefff5?Ww5eif ,Mi sig 'Aget'W?i5E5?E2i?1b,i5ZZ?g4, ,, ,,,,,,.. .. ,. f ' f firm, 5 1 - W 'EE F ' 2 SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS Ken Cardon Gerald Peck George Rassmussen Bob Redd - Chairman Carmen Attebury - Clerk Walace Newbill Janitors 8: Cooks Ed Cox Willie Barker Not Shown: Don Sz Zane Grey Faculty Mr. James Padden Mr. Wayne Schmid Mrs. Sandra Caldwell Foreign Languagesg Biologyg Typing lg Career Ed. g General Busi- Girls P.
