SENIOR CHN 55 I-HS I -.JIKY In the month of September, 1940 a group of 21 Freshman enrolled in the La Center High School at the beginning of a new four year career The followlng class offleers were chosen for the Freshman year Presldent, Joyce Sheldon, Vice Presi dent Peter Flnncgan, S6C1Gt8PJ, Helen Thornquist Treasurer, Elmer Soehl, Sergeant at arms, Henry Thompsor, Advm or, Miss Marlan Eicker Our social affairs for the year, 1940 consisted of an lnitiation party given us by the Sophomores on September 12, a return party to the Sophomores on October two carnival booths at the annual carnival, and a party to the eighth grade on April lO In the Sophomore year elghteen of our graduating class entered the year electlng the following class officers President Don Pachal Vlce President, Cecella Boy Secretary Tojec Sheldon, Treasurer, Sylvia Hantho, Sergeart at arms Elror Soehl, Report er, De Lores Johrstor, Class Advlsor, Miss Mildred Monk The Freshman were 9DtCTtHlDCd by the annual initiatlon on September 10, 1941 We also had two Booths lh the fall carznvml At the bGQlHHlPb ol our third yelr ln 1942, our Tlgh school career al extxcme change in the class for elght of our member joized the graduating class of '45 These member were MWTJOPlC Bevard, Cecell Boys, Tunlor Broun rd, Bob Hdskin, Quintln Rahberaer Joyce Sheldon, Elmer Soehl and Helen Thornquist The class J s fortun te however, 1 Jellum Mabel Har haw, Helen Lamp, and I thryn Rand Although Bob Jellum gradu lcd with the cla s of '45, he carried on through the year as 1 member of our class The clas officers for the ye r were President, Frank Besedd, Vice Presmdent Bob Tellum, Secretary, Mabel Hen haw, Tren urer, R thryn Rand Sergeant at arms, Dick Eagle, Class Advl or, Mr Dona Murphey Thls year proved qulte oc1 1 succe for he Juniors sponsored the annu 1 Sadle Hawklns' party In the spring we gave the Junlor Senlor Prom w 5 proved to be a big h1t of the year 'gy The class play, 1 snappy farce comedy, Uwhere 3 Grandma9n was highly praised and was also a gre as financial success !
