Imagine this! Ordinary school mates transformed in- to young men and women in suits, tuxedoes and beautiful long dresses. On prom night everyone looks great and feels great while having a ter- rific time. We ' ve Got Tonight by Bob Seger was the theme for the 1981 Junior-Senior Prom. The Century Center, with its walkways and Whitewater provided the perfect setting while the Congressional Funk supplied excellent entertainment. These are all the contemporary aspects of the prom. There are many traditions, however, that make the prom an exciting occasion. The typical evening begins with the boy arriving at the girl ' s house. Corsages and boutonnieres are exchanged as pictures and Oh ' s and Ah ' s come from the parents. After a quiet meal at a romantic restaurant, the couple proceeds to the prom. They have a great time dancing, talking with friends, taking prom pictures, and seeing the prom court make the traditional court walk and dance. During the prom, the boy removes the girl ' s garter and keeps it as a thank-you for a wonderful time. Students enjoy spending the following day at Tower Hill. Picnicking and enjoying the cool spring day make it a wonderful time. Unquestionably, the prom is an event remembered by all.

This year the baseball team gave the students of LaSalle High something to be proud of: a sec- tional championship. Not since 1970 has a LaSalle baseball team won a champion- ship. Many fans supported the Lions during the three games. Coach Rzeszewski felt the team really played well.
