This year marked the beginning of what is hoped will be a yearly tradition at LaSalle. Under the sponsorship of Student Govern- ment, a Spirit Week was launched. This undertaking was met with much enthusi- asm bythe students as they participated in a homeroom decorating contest. Spurred on by the promise of recognition at the Friday pep assembly and a stuffed lion as a prize, sophomore homeroom lOl was voted the winner by a iudging panel com- posed of teachers. Other week-long events included Jersey Day, Red and Black Day, and the selection of a football homecoming court. The week was climaxed by a homecoming victory over Clay on Friday night. Claims of increasing apathy among stu- dents of LaSalle with regard to school spirit were proven false by the fine re- sponse of both students and teachers alike. .fi Focus l3

Ki.. O 'lll ll ll l' When tomorrow arrives, many of us will have found and been contented with the obiects of our searches. Perhaps for some, the seeking ofa goal will be a lifelong oc- cupation. Certain ambitions may never be fulfilled but will be set always higher as they come closer to being realized. Our choices for seeking our own peace are of a wide scope and we have the right and freedom to choose from them without fear of being restrained by the thoughts and actions of others., Each of us does not live on an island, but neither is it true that we must all be grouped into the same compact package marked lOOo!0 American Youth . It is difficult to believe that any one individual is one hundred percent of anything, but is instead multi-faceted in interests and personality. Now, when the emphasis is being shifted away from the common crowd and toward e individual, is the time for us to become not so much the person others think we can be but the best possible we know we can be. il Focus 15
