Our officers were: President, Ted Fitz- geraldg Vice-President, Harry Busseg Secretary- Treasurer, Francis Van Sant. Faculty members were Mr. Krutsinger, Mr. Wells, Miss Hyde, and Miss Bos- ton. Mary Ellen Williams left before the year was up to go to Brownstown High School. Our Sophomore adviser was Mr. Jarand, a new member of the faculty. mr. Wells left up to be replaced by Miss O'Dell. Bill Weaver, Elmer Cra- vins, Alice Neilson and Mary Ellen Williams were added to the class, while Francis Van Sant's name was dropped from the register when his parents moved to Missouri. The Class officers were: President, Penrl Jarandg Vice-President, Virginia Robertsg Secretary-Treasurer, Elisabeth Fleming. Mr. Jarand and Mrs. Rush were elected Juninr Class advisers. We moved out to the new building and gained faculty members, Miss Ehker, Miss Max- field, Mr. Shaeffer, and Mrs. Hush, Miss O'Ue11 and Miss Boston left us fel hart schools. In the middle of the year Mr. Shafer accepted a po- sition as instructor at Chanute Field and was re- placed by Mr. Allen. The Methodist Church changed ministers and the class exchanged Elmer Crw vins for Miriam Michele who that year won a First place in the State Music Contest as pianist. Bill Wea- ver didn't start that year and Mildred Gourley left. We gained two othzr new students, Audree Porter and Marjorie Smith from St. James. Class officers were: President, Cherles Dippoldg Vice- President, Harry Busseg Secretary-Treasurer, Car- rol Jahraus. Miss Hyde piloted our fourth year, helped by clans officers, Charles Dippold, President, Harry Busse, Vice-President, Alice Bradford, secretary- Treesurer. Missing members were Elisabeth Fleming and Alice Neilson. We gained new seniors, Edwin Cruse, Darrell Towles, Alice Bradford and Lois Keeler from Edgewood. FTom lole we added one sen- lor, Hob Jones. We, the graduating class, have thus far given four boys to the Serv' 0 nf vu! :O untryg namely, Carrol Jahraus, Gdwin Crusc, Howard Crandall and Bill Hendricks. harry Busse was called to report March 9 but obtained a deferment to finish hisldgh school course. The superintendent of the school is Professor Innthus Krutsinger who is no- ted for his astounding philosphies of life and so- cial science. His very able assistant is Miss Lois Hyde. In one of the various rooms of the building, a lovely young English teacher, none other than Pearl Jarand is trying to get into the minds of her charges that polite intelligent people do not say Wain'tN or chew gum or avoid school at crucial times. Her students disagree with her as all typ- ical Farini do. At length she began to quote ex- amples of former students to prove: Alice Jean Bradford: World known dancer and ac- tress. Is now starring in Colossal Film Company's nJungle Rhythm.n Harry Busseg Engineer on the plastic streamline between Denver and Chicago for the past fifteen years. Howard Crandall: President of the Crandall gas Company. Edwin Cruse: Prize-fighter known as uFeetherfootn Holder of World's Champion Welterweight title, Charles Dippoldz Owner of a chaii of modern Ritz Hotels in the world's hot spots. Egg Fitzgerald: Coach at the Arkansas State Col- lege at Flat Rock, Arkansas. Delbert Harpster: Airline Pilot. Has designed a plane with a reverse gear shift. Jack Kline. Bill Hendrlcks: Kline, famous for his cure of hiccups. He and Hendricks, nn undertnker, hnve form:d P partnership under the motto of NI bring 'em in, and you take 'em out.N Darrel Towlcs: Fbrfmsn of the factory created by Rosie the Riveter, alias Lois Keeler. Junior Hollinshendz Lewdea of e famous jazz band. he has charmed the world with renditions on the trllmpa? t s Carrol Juhrnus: Has served in the marines for the past seventeen years an. has just been promoted to Lieutenant General Commandant. Robert 52333: A scientist noted for his remark- able bactri-logical discoveries. Aubrey Pontious: An industrious farmer for the past few years famous for his strain of World Champion Pure Bred Cattle. Gaillerd Roberts: A barber, creator of the famous Blue Beard Barber Shop. gaul Robnett: Ace Pitcher of the Cardinal Staff. He has never lost a game for them since he began, which has been only two weeks. Virginia Roberts: Stenographer to the Transna- tional Airlines Incorporated with Mary Williams the Chief Hostess for the airlines. Charlene Hoehne: A waitress at the Country Club located in Klckpoo, Kansas. Betty Martin: Nationally famous for her up-side down plum pie, demonstrated by Margie Qmljh, Miriar Michels: Pianist and Composer of a Sym- phony in E Minor. Hinmundy, our worst rival, beat us both times this years Some of the better teams that played Farina were Clay City, Benton, Vandalia, St. Elmo, and Teutopolis. Clay City de- feated us twice as did St. Elmo. The game with Sumner was cancelled due to transportation diffi- ' . culties, and Ashley played here in their place. Bm last games were very well played: We drew Aviston In the tournament, beating them by the slim margin of two points. The final score was 28-26. AS Cen- tralia beat Kinmundy, Farina tackled the strong Centralia five. The final result was 72 to 26 in favor of Centralia. SOME OF THE OUTSTANDING PLAYERS The outstanding star to face the team was none other than Clay City's high-scoring Elmo HDderbrand Kenneth Pigg was Kinm'4 p J high point man both times, and Bruner did the hitting for St. Elmo. be Lattee, Benton's fine center scored 29 points against us. Hartley was a good floor man. On our own team there was no outstanding play- er. Harry Busse, a reliable man for three years, was high point man with a total of 177 pointse Ted Fitzgerald followed with 154 points. Dane Guyg the other forward, was next in line with 128. Other members of the squad followed in this order: Smith, 623 Hohlt, 55g Pontious and Jahraus tied with 26 points eachg Bob Woerner, 83 and Wilkerson, 5.
