W., , ,mp-5 Studies, ball games, meetings, dates and dances-all these make up the wonderful year of l96O at LaGrange High School. In some ways it seemed like any other year, but for each one of us, there were experiences and honors-that set this one apart from all others. To the freshmen, this was a year of adjustment to high school life. To the sophomores and iuniors it meant moving closer to their goal and to their year of greatest importance. For the seniors, this was the year of all years. They enioyed all the special privileges and rights granted to seniors. They looked forward with courage and anticipation to a challenging, adult life after commencement. This year has meant something a little different to each student and faculty member, but to everyone, this was the year for new achievements and growth in our expanding school life. 3 is itms 'WE K Ken Sooy shows the project which won him and two other boys a blue ribbon at the i959 Science Fair. These girls learn to sew and to plan a balanced meal. They believe a healthy person is a happier one. The advanced classes work on home furnishings and color schemes in the home. It had its beginning in the summer of i959 at the High School Journalism Institute at Indiana Univer- sity. The editor, Jo Anne Schrock, and layout editor, Lynda Gatz, spent two weeks there making the basic plans for every page of the book. With the beginning of school in September, the real work began. Ads were sold, pictures taken and copy written, in a frantic rush to get the pages to the printers before the Decem- ber 30th deadline. Cilockwise are Jo Anne Sulirock, Editorg Lynda Gatz, Layout Editorg Ken Sooy, Sports Editorg Dave Jensen, Assistant Editorg and Jeanne Buttle, Art Editor. 27-F' NME' Pictured in tlie inset is Daxtd Gulgin, Business Manager ,Q x L 5 , N xx J I Nsjlff ASSISTING THE EDITORS ARE, LEFT TO RIGHT: Betty Dalgleisli, Joanne Pickwortli, J ite bininis Typist Betty Gleason, Senior Sectiong Natalie Fish, Faculty Sectiong and lean Sclirock, Typist. tudent Council , s - 13 ,3 Qfxggfzr:-555333 -2 , - ses Q 3' it wx is -k is Y X xf in STUDENT COUNCIL MEMBERS ARE: Bonnie Gleason, Dennis Lux, Elaine Hastings, Marsha Meeksj Clyde Archer, Jeanne Buttle, Sue Garner, Sue Wise, Bill Garner, Darrell Dunlap, Alice Adams, Irene Wolf, Janet Gregory, Ernie Cassidy, Jo Middlestetter, and Sponsor, Mr. Donald Grieve.
