Now her colleagues, the teachers of LaGrange High School and all the other city teachers of LaGrange, have named her the Teacher of the Year. Miss Clark's influence casts its shadow on her church and community as well as her school. She is always aligned with any worthy cause of her community. Witty, poised, gracious, and intelligent, Miss Clark is the epitome of a true Southern lady. MISS GOUD CITIZEN Anne Huie was elected Miss Good Citi- zen by the senior class and the L.H.S. fac- ulty. All of her years in high school have shown that she has the Finest qualities and infiuence. The DAR Committee chooses leadership, dependability, service, and pa- triotism as the main qualifications for the Miss Good Citizen award. W 9 ACTIVITIES GRANGER EDITORIAL STAFF It would have been impossible to record in one volume all of the happenings of the 1957-58 school term, but we have endea- vored to register an impartial-yet thorough view of LaGrange High School life. Through the diligent activity and expert leadership of our editor, Phil Albright, and associate editors, Susanne Daniel and Bill Johnson, we have tried to make this book worthy of the title GRANGER. if The members of the Editorial Staff were, seated, left to right: Henderson, Hornsby, Daniel, Albright, johnson, Green, Smith, Bowers. Standing: jackson, Thompson, Chambers, Floyd, Strack, Hutchinson, Davidson, and Miss Hall, adviser. GRANGER ADVISER Though the post of Granger Editorial Stall adviser often means many sacrifices, including after-school hoursg Miss Hall has done all this and more. It was largely due to her patience and guidance that this book has been produced. 'Ne hope this GRANGER is a fitting result of her untiring efforts. BUSINESS STAFF The members of the business staff spent many hours on their feet selling ads for the Granger. The job of selling annuals and plastic covers also kept them occupied. lt was up to the Business Staff, headed by Mark Vklhitehead, business manager, and Mary Frances Jackson, advertising manager, to manage all finances for the Granger. CLARION During fourth period each day, typewriters clicked furiously as Clarion staff members worked to meet deadlines. Besides the six newspapers they published each year, they also had to write for the weekly school page, High School Headlines, in the LaGrange Daily News. There were to be pictures captioned, ads sold, lay-outs made, names spelled cor- rectly, and one hundred and one other things done to get out the newspaper. But under Miss Swain's patient and helpful direction, these things were done-and done well! The Clarion Stuff was headed by Loraine Fuller, Owen Greene, edt tor, and Alice Bassett. 66 The Clarion Stag seems to be hard at work in order to meet the dead- line. STAFF Had it not been for the expert leadership of Miss Swain, The Clarion and High School Headlines would not have been the big suc- cess that they were this year. She deserves much praise and thanks for her untiring efforts and guidance. To you, Miss Swain, we on the Clarion Staff say, Thank you so much!
