Would you like to know why? But, first, let me tell you who l am. . Grangers call me Li'l Granger, l've lived on a form almost all my life. My name is derived from one of those furrin words meaning barn or farm, so the place I live is called LaGrange from the name of the farm of General LaFayette in France. lrepresent the students of LaGrange High School. You know a farm is an area of soil that is cultivated forthe purpose of producing the necessities of life. Well, let me tell you, in this LaGrange High School there is a lot of farming going on, 'cepting it's intellect instead of soil that's being cultivated by the teachers instead of farmers. They turn up new thoughts in the minds of the students, fer- tilize these thoughts with experience and knowledge, then watch the young minds grow and develop in wisdom and in the power to think for themselves. A great writer has said, Constant tillage exhausts a field. The Grangers believe that all work and no play will make them dull boys and girls, so they have plenty of activi- ties and other doings going on a lot of the time. These things help Grangers to de- velop teamwork, talents, personality and friendships. i 1AjbeFpeopleQwh0 compiled this record want you to know that minds can be cultivated as well as soil and LaGrange High School has a crop of graduates every year just as a farmerl has a yearly harvest. f V y it I sincerely hope that you win like this GRANGER of 1952 and that if will bring buck many happy recollections of days down on the LaGrange High School campus. Janice and Ted have long stood out for these fine qualities. FITIENTJLIEST DOT STAGG and JOHN STEWART The Hi Kid, and Hey Gurl, of John and Dot have really made them outstanding. Hav- ing a radiant smile and a friendly way, these two have certainly supplied themselves with a glowing personality and have gained friends galore. MUST INTELLEUTUAL NANCY YATES and NED EDGE Nancy and Ned were chosen the most in- tellectual, not only because of their fine school record, but also for the many different ways in which they make their minds work. They take part in almost every school activity and hold important places in school. 'M 5-f af A like MCL me CFOIJ v MUST TALENTED MATTHEW HODNETT and REBA WILLIAMS Unless talents are used they may be lost. Reba and Matthew really put their abilities into effect. While Reba is a very jazzy piano player, Matthew brings on the down-beat with his trombone. Both have been in the school band and take part in many activities away from school. MUST ATHLETIC BOBBY WAUGH and REBA WILLIAMS Bobby and Reba have taken part in many fields of athletics. They have learned from these activities to be good losers, good winners, and to take even the worst defeat in stride, We shall always remember Bobby on the line and Reba on the side-line.
