The field of scientific progress stretches before us as a vast unexplored region, which challenges and thrills the imagination. Aviation, radio, radar, atomic energy are symbolic of man's age- old struggle to master the earth. Peace and reconstruction have likewise brought us in sight of a second frontier, as rugged and overtowering as a mountain range, it is-world co-operation. Peace can fade like a mirage unless people learn to get along with other people. This frontier, too, is challenging. The Charter of the Allied Nations is symbolic of manis age-old struggle to master himself. As Americans, we are still on the frontiers. We who are in high school are climbing the hill at sunrise. From the heights We hope to catch a view from the Atlantic to the Atlantic-the world over. Like our forefathers we need faith and courage for the problems ahead. Far more than they, we need education. In whatever measure this, the 1946 GRANGER, shows life at L. H. S., it reveals our equipment for life on the new frontier.
