Those who have seen him smile, faced his frown, those who have shuddered when he pounded his lect urn, while he bel- lowed at his semi-circle of listeners, will hold within them the only true, if still incomplete, portrait. For those who hadn t the opportu- nity: he is an angry man, with an anger ever-present in its attempt at destro)ing our Apathy, our Stupi- dit} ' , our Cowardice, and he is very aner) ' because one man can do very little against such institutions. And he is a great-hearted man, for he knows he has those faults, but be- cause he works to end them, be- cause he tries, we know there is more and we try. Perhaps only those minds he has shaken will un- derstand, having known such a man, that they percieve with clearer eyes what exists around them. It is this last quality, self-exam- ination, which is the most impor- tant lesson learned, the most impor- tant question asked in Mr. Gust ' s histor) ' classes: What do you, an in- dividual, thinking human being, believe in and why?
