What is a professor? He ' s a rare breed of animal, vegetable, and miner- al that ' s got some thing about sacrifice. He could probably be making more money else- where and could lots happier. Yet, for some reason, he ' s here now making you miserable. Oh, sure, some of them are sad, too — some of them are real sad. But most of them are okay — real pals. Every now and then, you get one that gives out blanket A ' s and goes drinking wi th the guys. But more often than not, you end up with a guy that walks into class the first day and says, For to- morrow, read the first 20 chapters and be prepared for a test. 24
