A MESSAGE TO THE SENIORS Seniors of the class of 195 3, we congratulate you upon completion of your liberal arts course of studies. The emphasis of this issue of The Quadrangle upon com- munity life should serve as a perpetual reminder that your work is not finished. In a recent address Mr. George S. Johnson, chairman of the city Board of Edu- cation, referred to the principles involved in the account of Jesus and the Rich Young Ruler and stated that after all material success is achieved, we are still faced with the question, What lack I yet? There is much yet to be done. As long as you live you will be faced with your responsibilities to the com- munity in which you live, though oceans will stand between you and some of your classmates. If LaGrange College has meant all it should have to you, the stamp of its spirit will be upon you. You will be a citizen ready to offer leadership in church, state, and culture because you have been taught how to serve and have been given opportunity to do so. As we meet again in your community from time to time, we shall have occasion to point with pride to you as a former LaGrange student. We have confidence that we can depend on you. The guiding spirit of any school is found in its administration and faculty. We are fortunate indeed to have on our campus some of the finest scholastic spirits. Their enthusiastic approach to learning and their devotion to the teaching profession will remain a constant inspiration to the students who have studied under their direction.
