QreetingSy (Alumnae Tf) you, individually, my dear alumnae, whether you dwell in the bleak north or in the southern sunny isles or on the far western plains or in the islands of the sea — wherever your footsteps have wandered, I send you p;reetings. Be assured that though you are gone your place here has been filled through the changing years by those whose chief desire has been to be worthy to follow in our footsteps along the shining pathway that leads to knowledge. Know also that we who are here are dreaming the same dreams, following the same stars and nurturing the same hopes that you dreamed and followed and nurtured A hile you were here. And, oh, what glorious dreams, what shining stars, what wistfid hopes. We do not ask that you remember us, for we know that you cannot forget. You cannot put aside the memory of those dear, dead days of long ago. Now and then the recollection of some joyous experience must luiexpectedl ' come to you out of the mist of forgotten years and you come back for a fleeting moment to live again in the old college halls.
