Considered by many teachers to be one of the most socially well-adjusted students from afar, Reto naturally agreed to a personal interview. What have you learned here? — I got a new feeling about the world and myself, and I learned that there are many different ways of doing the same things. What memory of our high school will you cherish most? — The smiles, and the way I was re- ceived by the students and teachers. I didn’t know how important smiles were until my first experiences in the USA, away from home. I found out that when you don’t really understand what’s going on in a different • culture, a smile can help a lot. 16
