Pennock - Manager The 1970-71 Junior Varsity Basketball Team demonstrated fine basketball ability by winning their first thirteen games. The team has hopes of winning the Junior varsity tournament and perhaps completing the season without a loss. One of the factors contributing to their successful season was the consistent balance scoring and team work. 25

Basketball is a popular sport in this area and for as long as anyone can remember L'Anse High School has had a team. Sometimes it's been more than just any team as you may remember in recent years, such as the state Class C Champion- ship team of 1965-66 and the undefeated Conference Championship team of 1966-67. The seniors on the 1970-71 team were freshmen the year after L'Anse won its last Conference title. Since this is their last year in school they would like to bring another one to L'Anse. With only one defeat in the first half of the sea- son the chances look promising; perhaps even another state championship is more than an impossible dream. OUR SENIORS: Manager-K. Penokie-D.
