It took us successful- ly to the end of our high school life. We hope that our success will be a guiding light to those who follow, and become a symbol to each member of the Class of i960 as they embark upon another journey - - the Journey of Life. .... The Staff In Memoriam We, the Senior Class of 1960, of L'Anse High School, publish this year book. The Envoy, in memory of all former students and teachers of L’Anse High School, especially those who died in the service of our country. They will be remembered always by those who knew and loved them. Dedication As the hands of the clock have moved in the passage of time, you have given us something which no one can take away. Your understanding helped us througli many difficult moments, and your guidance has led us safely through our high school years. For all these moments you have helped us, we, the class of 1960, do respectfully dedicate our yearbook. The Envoy, to our parents, to our advisors, and to all others who have stood by us so faithfully through our most important years. Administration F acuity Charles A. Schanck B. Pat, herself, is helping to run a dairy farm six miles west of Baraga. The first invitation is to Doris Abba, now a teacher at Baraga School, teaching all the 1959-60 basketball players' children. Next is Rosalind Backmann, who is a sergeant in the WAVES; possibly she can get a leave. Eldon Berg, let's see, wasn’t that he I saw behind the meat counter at the Quality last week? Gail Brogan Beaudry is co-manager of the Beaudry Beauty Shop in Milwaukee with seven little Beaudry's helping out. Sharon Heikkila is running a household in Fairbanks, Alaska. I must not forget Louella Howes. She's private secretary to Allen Esekl, the most prominent photographer in Covington. Bill Herrala, one of our former famous athletes, is now head coach at Georgia Tech. I hear he is trying for the Orange Bowl again. Dar- lene Johnson is a secretary at the Artmaster Yearbook Company. I hope Mr. Schanck will let his assistant, John Moilanen, take an afternoon off from the Shop Room. Gerald Niemi is now a ticket agent at the Pan American Air Lines. Martin Oja will just have to take a little time off from looking for a shoe out on the Skanee Road and come to the reunion. Poor Bob Oust is still scratching the blue paint scratches off his car. Ray Pakkala is working with Red Skelton on his T.V. program. Pat Parkila, who isn't getting any younger, is still holding out for her Millionaire. Hope she finds him! Jack Ran- tanen is just as bashful as ever and the only time he sees a girl is at the racetrack. Maybe this reunion will do him some good.
