 Whenever there is a football game, track meet, or a basketball game in L'Anse, you will usually find a great number of people present. This holds true for the rest of the country, too. Sports are our national pastime and are enjoyed by spectator and partici- pant alike. Almost everyone shares an enthusiasm for athletics. The term sports,” in its true meaning, means more than participating in a game. It also means lessons in fair play and sportsmanship, which cannot be found in any textbook. These lessons can be learned in any sport, whether it be tennis or football, or even a game of cards. Sportsmanship also stands for the idea of a team game, which should always prevail, win or lose, not the individuals’ game. Yes, sports teach us many valuable lessons and that is the reason so many people turn to them, not only for pleasure, but for the rules of life brought forth by sports. In the past few years, we have had teams in L’Anse High School of which we can be justly proud. They have won and brought back to our school several trophies which praise and honor our school. We are indeed fortunate to belong to a school which can boast of champions. In the following pages, we will show you the teams we are proud of, and also show that L’Anse High School has seen us develop PHYSICALLY. —14—
