Coach Swanson has been a football devotee for a number of years. He has had actual playing experience for three years at Menominee High School and four years at the Northern State Teachers’ College. In 1927, he received the degree of Bachelor of Arts at the Northern State Teachers’ College. The following fall he became a faculty member of the L’Anse School System. In 1928 he took over high school duties and became assistant in the athletic department. Last year he assumed the work of head football coach and has continued in that capacity for this year. Coach Swanson is a hard worker. He has studied football tactics under Coach Kipke at the University of Michigan and is eager to know all aspects of the game. Coach Rusch is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin. For the past two years he has been assistant coach in football and head coach of basketball. At the present time he is in charge of the Boy’s Physical Education Department in the L’Anse Schools. Elwood Little is a graduate of the Michigan State College and has taken work at the University of Michigan. For the last two years he has acted as Reserve Coach in football and basketball. William Toms is a Northern State Teachers’ College Alumnus and has acted as assistant to Coaches Swanson and Rusch this year.
