At first it was our uniforms With buttons five and four, Heaven bless the thoughtful seniors Who knocked at our cottage door. We met all our instructors, And in the rain went down, To count our Vanishing dollars In the book stores of the town. We learned to scour the tables And to tidy up the wards, Wash a million little glasses, And what the linen room is for. Watched o'er by kind Mrs. Traylor We learned to make our beds. And looked for Mrs. Easley's smile To cheer our aching heads. I We've been examined and immunized In a hundred different ways. From Clinic to Employee's desk, In a labyrinthal maze. Mrs. Brown inspects our uniforms, Our ties are always wrongg Our cuffs are fastened backward And our uniform's. too long. Miss Pugh keeps up the library From cellar to the attic.
