The publishing of our school paper, The Reflector, is the most recent venture of our school. Like the clarion call of the trumpet in the early morning. so The Reflector goes forth as a testimony and witness to all who read it. This paper is composed of meditations. testimonies, articles on school activities, alumni news, and original literary material from the students. The purpose of this publication is to draw our alumni. friends and students closer to our school and its activities and bind us in spiritual fellowship. It is our prayer that this new venture may continue in our school and be a source of inspiration to all its readers. ADELINE MEYER

6 CH PEL TIME Each morning there is a welcome pause in our class activities when faculty and students gather in the chapel. As we enter we are greeted with the soft tones of the beautiful new Baldwin Electronic organ, a gift presented to the school by Mildred Brink, an alumna, and her brother Peter, in memory of their parents. The organ music contributes much to the beauty and solemnity of these times of praise and prayer. Chapel is a very important phase of our school life. Believing that the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much, we unitedly bring to the Lord the needs of our churches, the schools, all avenues of mission activity, government. the sick and the sorrowing, the work of mercy. and the faculty and students. Tenny- son has said, More things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of. I-low true this is. Through these precious moments of communion with the Lord, the hearts of faculty and student body are knit closely together. Arrangements for our chapel sessions are made by the students under the super- vision of one of the faculty members. Once a week we enjoy hearing a guest speaker. or seeing a film in connection with some phase of missions or work of mercy. Each Wednesday we devote our chapel time mainly to a prayer session in which several of the students take part. The students take turns in directing the singing, in chapel leadership, and in bringing a message from Gods YVord. Thus these sessions are varied and inspiring, and give us valuable practice in Christian leadership. Leaving the chapel after these times of spiritual refreshing, we feel in our hearts the sentiment expressed by the psalmist: tt lflfllllf shall I render to the Lord For all His f?6'll6'fffS to me? How slmll my 50111, by grace restored, 1 - Give zuorffzvy tlzunks, O Lord to Thee? LENA BULTHUIS - Freslznzan Pact Forty nine
