 Dedication Dr. Hcrvey P. Prentiss, whose sudden death last summer bereaved colleagues and students alike, was in the fullest sense one of the pillars of Kutztown State College. A doctor of philosophy from Northwestern (1932) this staunch New Englander came to our campus in 1946 as Dean of Men, and five years later was appointed chairman of the Social Studies department. In 1962 he was the obvious choice to head the new liberal arts division, and in 1965 he was named Dean of Arts and Sciences by the late President deFrancesco. His energy, his wise counsel, and his constant warm concern for the good of his fellowmen were apparent to us all. Here truly was one worthy of Marc Antony’s words, His life was gentle, and the elements So mixed in him that Nature might stand up And say to all the world, 'This was a man.'
