 In facing the responsibilities ahead I am encouraged by the knowledge that Kutztown State College has a loyal, capable faculty who are willing and able to cope with the vital issues of not only our academic community, but with those of our great commonwealth. I have faith in the purpose of Kutztown students, and I cherish for them a significant role in social and national movements that will bring security and peace. I am proud of the distinction that Kutztown has achieved as an academic standard bearer in the family of state colleges, and with the con- tinued support of trustees, alumni, students, faculty, and friends, excellence shall continue to be our guiding star. . . . from President Beekey's Inaugural Address
