At this point in our lives, we are all facing our futures. ln order to see where our futures will take us, we first need to consider who we are. This is the time when we recognize our individualism and discover indepen- dence. Over the years, each of us has developed into unique personalities with particular values and distinct goals. Because we have grown into our own people, we should consider the influences which have made us who we are today. When we first came together as a class, we knew only our families and the lessons from home. At school it became necessary to get to know and co-operate with our classmates. We began to devel- op ideas about people and relationships. We grew close to special friends who, during both fun and serious times, enriched our lives. In the classroom, our teachers taught us the facts and ideas which all improve our lives. This combination of influences changed our self-images and our points of view on the outside world. As we have grown older, we have specialized these images and views to suit our personal needs. This had made us individuals. As we go onto the next stage of our lives, to face whatever our futures hold, we will each do it on our own. But we will always have the pieces of ourselves which Kutztown Area High School and the Class of 1988 have formed. These pieces fit together to make special and unique people who probably would have turned out differently. Sara Hall '88
