SENIOR TRIP ACCOUNT The Senior Class of 1957 left Toledo April 28, 1957, on the Baltimore and Ohio Ambassador. We had breakfast in the diner. Arriving at Wash- ington, D.C., the next morning at 9:30 a.m., we had our luggage packed upon the top of an eight -door Cadillac Grayline Sightseeing car driven by Bob Wilson. He gave us a tour of the city. We had the afternoon off and enjoyed this because we were tired. Our rooms were in the Dodge Hotel. At 7:30 p.m. our two-hour escorted tour took us to the Jefferson Memori- al, the Lincoln Memorial, National Airport, National Archives Building, and the Congressional Library. Smithsonian Institute was visited on Tuesday morning. In the after- noon the bus trip took us past the many Embassies and Legations, and to Washington Monument and Ohio Drive. On Wednesday we took our luggage with us and visited the White House, Arlington Cemetery, Alexandria, and Mount Vemon. We had lunch in the Old Club Tea House. We visited Christ Church, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and Iwo Jima Memorial. We left Washington on the B cgi O Royal Blue train, had dinner in the diner, and at 6:00 p.m. arrived at Jersey City, New Jersey. Here we boarded a B 8: O motor coach for transfer to the Hotel Paramount. As we ferried across the Hudson River we saw a wonderful view of the New York skyline. Later that night we were on a tour or the National Broadcasting Company and after that we visited the observation roof of the RCA building. On Thursday, after a good night's sleep, we went on a tour of lower New York, the Statue of Liberty, and had a stop at Chinatown. After dinner we went on a short walk to Radio City Music Hall where we en- joyed a stage show and movies. At night we wrote letters and caught up on lost sleep. Friday provided us with a three -hour yacht cruise around Manhattan Island. In the afternoon we went to the United Nations building. For the rest of the afternoon we were free and some went shopping. At 10:15 p.m. we left New York for Niagara Falls. After we arrived at Niagara, on Saturday morning, we went on a two- and-a-half hour tour of the Falls. After we left Niagara we headed home on the New York Central. We arrived in Toledo at9:45 p.m. four pictures were taken by a Blade photographerj and were met by our parents who brought us back to good old K-U-N-K-L-E. Our trip was arranged by the B 8a O representative, Mr. George Sinks, whose wife accompanied us from Toledo. It is wonderful to be able to say that we have seen our Nation's Capitol with all its beauty, and New York City with its towering buildings and hustle-bustle activity. NOTE: The picture to the upper left shows LeRoy Stantz greeted by his brother and his mother, Mrs. Neri Stantzg Pauline Kosier with her mother, Mrs. Will Kosierg and Mrs. Earl Hulbert wit.h Roger. The picture on the following page shows our entire group with Mr. Oral Ross, our chaperone, in the Union Station, Toledo. Both of these pictures were taken by a Toledo Blade photographer, May 4, 1957. 43 j g -1 rn I Wm ww- ., H fK3'Q xxtf--IQ Q s.
