CLASS HISTORY Four years ago 1945 to be exact fifteen young boys and girls graduated from Kunkle Juruor H1gh School They were quite proud for they would soon be 1n high school among the students that graduated in 1945 were Charlene Warner Delena Cronmger Willa Mae Johnson, Nancy Hutchinson Lois Ebaugh Jacquelyn Miller Audrey Zolman, Fred Dietrich Hal Thompson, Roland Ackerman Richard Leskow Lawrence Ackerman Joh 1 Haugh Tommy Creek and Harold Hulbert At the beginning of our ninth school year, fourteen timid Freshman walked 1nto the halls of K H S John I-laugh moved away during the summer In the course of the year we gained Lillian Smith Darlene Premer and Duane Tressler During our Freshman year the b1g events were Freshman Initiation fwhich we survived and the Annual I-hgh School Christmas Party, which shall always remain a pleasant memory to us Now we were Sophomores and the one b1g thing we looked forward to was our chance to initiate the Freshmen Two of our members withdrew that year they were Richard Leskow and Lawrence Ackerman All 1n all the 1n1tiat1on turned out to be a big success Though we doubt 1f the Freshman agree To top off the year we gave to the high school a most successful Easter Program which cons1sted of a fashion parade Styles from the gay 90 s to latest from Paris were proudly modeled by our talented class Now we were Juruors At last we realized that we were moving upward so we began We realized too that we must raise money to pay for the banquet and for the many expenses that come up during the Senior year So in order to make all the money we could we sold candy pop and other things at basketball games, noon and on other occasxon We made out quite well this way Then for a little fun not all work you know we sponsored a ayride for the high school which was a b1g success Now we must let you know a little about who came to Join us in our Junior year, some left too We gained Jack and Dale Coleman, and Norman Goffinet at the beginning of the year Later in the year we lost these same three boys plus Audrey Zolman Darlene Premer, L1ll1an Smith Tommy Creek, and Harold Hulbert The day finally came when we entered our last year of school and became the Seniors of K H S for 49 We were happy to add two new names to our class roll Mary Sitek and Betty Miller There are only five members who have spent all twelve years at K H S They are Delena Lo1s Nancy Charlene and Hal This year as Seniors we had the pr1v1lege of putting out the school paper, publishing the Annual rafflmg cakes at basketball games We also sponsored another successful hayride These were all means of ra1s1ng money for our Senior Trlp we took in the Spring The b1g event of the year was the Senior Class Play which all the Seniors took part 1n one way or another We all agreed that th1s was the biggest and most successful year of our school le Now we have finished the task we started and are ready to go out into the world and make use of our selves and our education As the new Alumru' We hope to reach the top in our chosen vocations. 11 9 .
