As we look back over the years, we see that each year has always brought improvement. Not just academic improvement. Sometimes we make social gains. We’ve made new friends each year. We leap from one stage of growth—say 7th grade—that we think we’ll never be able to find our next classroom— to—rushing in to see the numbers decrease on the senior count down board. 4 Opening

KHS Students Look Back Yet Leap Forward It’s been an interesting year. In fact it’s been an interesting career. This year alone, we added computer to our academic offerings and have seen students from grades seven through twelve put them into use. We’ve watched our teachers learn to adapt to the new inhabitants of room 233. Wendy Werner was named a high scorer in the 50,000 top scores from more than a million who took the PSAT by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. Thanks to the efforts of Principal Rommelmann, the first Memorial Scholarship was awarded at commencement. Many contributions were gratefully received from the community and community groups. Our athletic teams did very well in almost every aspect. The greatest accomplishment, of course, was the Fillies basketball sectional win. A first ever for any basketball team at KHS. Opening 3
